Repack RAR archives to 7Z for stronger compression and long-term backup storage with AnyConv365 online.

Updated 2026-07-15

RAR is common for downloads, but 7Z often shrinks the same files further — useful for cold storage and bandwidth-limited uploads.

Quick steps

  1. Open RAR to 7Z.
  2. Upload your .rar archive.
  3. Download the 7Z and test extraction before deleting the original.

Tips

  • Recipient cannot open 7Z? Repack with RAR to ZIP for universal tools.
  • Need to share 7Z with Windows users? They may need 7-Zip or a compatible extractor.
  • Already have ZIP? 7Z to ZIP goes the other direction when ZIP is required.
  • More archive paths in the Archive Converter.

When RAR to 7Z is the right call

Choose RAR→7Z when you control both sides of the backup and want smaller archives. Prefer ZIP when recipients use built-in OS extractors only.

Archive conversions may use AnyConv365 servers; uploads are deleted after processing.
