Extract text from PDF to plain TXT

Pull readable text out of PDF documents for search, reuse, and lightweight editing with AnyConv365 — best on text-based PDFs.

Updated 2026-07-15

PDF locks layout. When you only need the words — for search indexes, chatbots, or pasting into notes — convert a text-based PDF to plain TXT.

Quick steps

  1. Open PDF to TXT.
  2. Upload your PDF.
  3. Download the .txt file and skim the first page for garbled characters.

Tips

Scans vs text PDFs

Text-based PDFs extract cleanly. Scanned image-only PDFs usually need OCR first — expect missing or jumbled text until the scan is recognized. Columns and tables flatten to reading order, not a perfect grid.

Document conversions may use AnyConv365 servers; uploads are deleted after processing. Always spot-check headings and bullet lists before you ship extracted text to customers.
